![]() | Great Haseley WindmillRestoration TrustThe Great Haseley Windmill Trust was formed in 2005. The trust has been awarded a grant towards the current restoration project, which began in July 2009. The aim of this project is to begin to restore the mill to how it would have been towards the end of its working life, undoing the effects of approximately 100 years of neglect. The ethos is to preserve as much as possible of the original structure, only replacing those parts which are absent or too decayed to be reused. Initial work will be to the interior of the mill, so you are unlikely to notice any changes! However, it would be wonderful if, funding permitting, the tower, cap and sails could eventually be restored. This would provide a striking landmark in the area, and provide a lasting historical edifice for future generations to enjoy. You can follow the progress of the restoration here, or use the Blog link at the top of the page. |
